This card was cancelled while I was reviewing it.

If they run today I’ll expect a frozen track dominated by horses who press for the lead early. This may be a drastically different track than last Saturday’s which displayed the highest pace rating of the year in route races while remaining speed favoring in the sprints.

Race 1 – How do you avoid the Loooch Racing invader from California via Delta Downs? Probably with great caution. However no horse shipping in from Delta has won at first asking here (8-0-0-1). Mike Pappada’s MADE THE CUT will draw interest making his second start back. I’ll be turning my  attention to the price on SOUTHERN TWISTER who seemed to wake up when urged early on 07Feb. Possible 1,4,6 exacta box but checking out the track is the direction that I’m leaning early.

Race 3 – This thing may see four of the six well matched runners scrambling for the early lead. Perhaps AZUBA has an advantage cutting back a few yards, but I don’t think that anybody in here has a great advantage. I’ll find a price horse or pass.

Race 4 – In my mind finding a winner in a six horse grouping of fairly pricey state-bred claimers is risky business. Again, the race will be “on” early. Is it possible that SHE’S THE PRIZE gets a pace advantage today?

Race 5 – Given the success that horses with Woodbine histories have been having here it would appear the MONEYINTHECUVEE has an excellent shot to make it two in a row but this is a testy group. I’ll have my eyes on the odds as they relate to ALWORTH, switching to Jeff Skerrett. He cuts back today after going “speed and fade” in his first trip for this barn. Both LEADER OF THE STORM and COME ON MAN are also capable of running with the morning line favorite. Tossing the chalk for a 2,4,5 exacta box is a thought if the prices justify the risk. ALWORTH across the board is also a thought if his odds don’t tumble.

Race 6 – Both of Larry Smith’s winners here have shipped from Turfway as HARD TO PLEASE does today. It appears that she has been facing better down there. JU JU JUDY returns from Turfway for the powerful Woodard stable, hopefully she’ll take money but fail on the current surface. I like SING THE BLUES to show up with her running shoes on today at a big price. SING THE BLUES across the board and/or 9,10,11 exacta box for me.

This is a very competitive card. The seventh should be lots of fun to watch.

Race 7 –
