Today’s average speed figures: (SY) 7 Sprints 0.69 – 3 wire to wire; 1 Routes 0.75 – 0 wire to wire, except for the first race horses not in the first flight were in trouble; the rail was usually the place to be

Race 1 – ARAGORN’S QUEST #4 – third has been freshened since her last start and takes some class relief here. PROUD AND PRETTY #2 – fifth, last should make a statement late. JUDY’S REFLECTION #1 – second always runs as fast as she can as long as she can.

Race 2 – TRIPLE STRIKE #4 – winner $3.20 ran in juvenile stakes races last year as a maiden, with maturity he graduates today.

Race 3 – A repeat of his last trip would be quick to chalk up a win for ENLISTED MAN #5 – winner $4.40. BIG BUBBA #2 – third went evenly that day and also fits well here. SHAKE YA ROPE #4 – second is looking for greener grass in Ohio. The 5/4 exacta paid $13.40

Race 4 – Another difficult maiden race. UNBRIDLED GRADUATE #4 – winner $3.60 was sold at the January Keeneland sale by Steve Asmussen who raced him against Ohio stakes runners while still a maiden. Longshot HOW HIGH #5 – sixth, last will be saddled by John Wedge who scored with another first time starter on Saturday.

Race 5 – When the morning line favorite GRAVE #1 – third has a 1/41 record it is a difficult race to play. This field is a combined 6/227 (give or take). Don’t bet a short price here.

Race 6 – RUNNYMEDE NATIVE #6 – second quit early against some tough foes in his last. He could bounce right back with Skerrett taking over the reins while they drop a class. SUNSHINE VALENTINO #3 – fourth finished well ahead of RUNNYMEDE NATIVE on 27Jan and was competitive against that tough bunch again since that meeting. WILD FOR GLORY #2 – sixth, last is a steady type that will bring his game at this distance.

Race 7 – CANTICO #3 – winner $4.20 burst onto the Ohio Valley scene 9Feb after facing better in Chicago. She will have to out duel speedy DOUBLEBLACKDIAMOND #5 – fourth to repeat. OPEN REQUEST #6 – fifth could pick up the pieces if the front runners fall apart.

Race 8 – Elliot Sullivan will look to improve SPEND TO SAVE #1 – second in her second trip for the new stable. BERNSTEINS BELLE #2 – fourth might make the leap from maiden claiming into racing with winners. Her stalking style fits the current track and TD Houghton has taken the ride. When SHESASHOOTER #5 – fifth shows life it’s at this distance.
