Today’s average winning pace figs: (MY) 7 Sprints 0.91 – 2 wire to wire; 1 Routes 0.53 – 0 wire to wire

Race 1 – #1 NO BLUFFING – winner $3.80 shows up for only his second race with an excuse for a top barn. Nine year old #3 LORI’S COACH – second is fast enough but this is his 27th try to break his maiden. #5 SPIDERINTHEWEB – fourth returns to the bottom level another race smarter.  1/3 exacta $11.00

Race – 2 Troubled at the start last time #6 RULED BY KISSES – second gets another chance to show if he brought any of his west coast class east. #4 AWED – winner $7.00  has been hustled back to town after a disappointing trip to Charles Town. #5 SIDE PARTY RALPH – third  has been competitive locally. 4/6 exacta $49.80, 4/6/5 trifecta $46.15

Race 3 – #2 PORTLY – winner $3.40 is a head short of perfect here showing a crisp work since his last start. #5 COLORADO CITY – off the board, stumbled start ships some Texas back class to town. #3 CLEVER CHAT – second can improve in his third race for outstanding connections. 2/3 exacta $9.00

Race 4 – #6 WORTH A PUNT – fifth, last came back to the races at this distance last year. Those bullet works indicate that his connections are looking to repeat that feat today. #3 FINAL ANSWER – third ran the first six furlongs on 13Feb quickly enough to beat this bunch – might be the “speed of the speed.” Classy #4 PRAISEWORTHY – scratch returned to the races on a surface that didn’t leave in him much chance. He is eligible to improve.

Race 5 – #2 CANDY CHANT – third is fit and perfectly spotted by Robert Gorham. #6 IRISH MOON – second  seems to enjoy getting involved early so he’ll probably like the move to this surface. #4 DON’T SLIP – fourth gets slight class relief at his preferred distance.

Race 6 – Earner of $117,000 while only winning three times #5 LOOSLIKEAHIT – fifth as been sent to Ohio by the powerful Loooch stable to get some pictures taken. Joe Woodard seems to have an endless line of runners ready to ship and win from Turfway. #4 BEAT THE STORM – fourth is today’s edition of the Woodard/Hays winning formula. #1 KEEP THE CASH – third has everything right since leaving the Sullivan except win. He can’t be discounted on the local surface.

Race 7 – #6 LOVE IN EGBERT – winner $5.00 looks to have the best chance to rate behind a potentially brutal early pace. #2 ROOM FOR APTITUDE – third has been competitive with plenty of quality fields since this place opened notching three wins. He certainly fits. #1 RUSSIAN RHAPSODY  – off the board, made the pace faded insures an honest pace and is the one that must be caught.

Race 8 – The second race back angle may get #2 PEAT BAY – fourth home first here. #5 BEA TOP QUALITY – third  will be the target again and is capable of staying the distance. #1 HARD WAY SIX – winner $6.60 is another of those tough to play against Woodard shippers. This one was lights out in southern Ohio last year and appears to be a Hays re-claim.
