Friday, April 3 at Keeneland

Road trip to Bluegrass Country were we’ve encountered severe thunderstorms and three inches of rain since arriving yesterday –

Update (10:08am): Keenland is off the turf today.

Race 2 – #5 PADEN seems to have found a soft condition for his 2015 debut. He raced here in November and has several sharp workouts here this spring – fifth

Race 3 – #1 SWEETGRASS broke her maiden in Florida a month ago then shipped here to work forwardly last week. This Street Sense filly cuts back to seven furlongs as the 9/5 morning line selection – winner $5.80

Race 5 – A graded stakes runner in 2014 #7 MILEHIGH BUTTERFLY returns for her 3yo season facing non-winners of two with a distinct advantage – fourth

Races 7 – 10 were cancelled because of severe weather in the area.

Race 8 – #3 COUGAR RIDGE has been sharp since returning to the main track. His December victory came over a sloppy Fair Grounds track against lesser –

Race 9 – Today’s feature The Transylvania Stakes (G3) $100,000 at 1 1/16 miles for three year olds will probably come off the grass. The field includes Breeders Cup Juvenile runner up #10 LUCK OF THE KITTEN, son of Tapit #4 A LOT, and Palm Beach Stakes (G3) competitors #8 DIVISIDERO and #9 NIGHT PROWLER. Scratches might narrow the field if the race moves to the main track. I’ll revisit this one after scratches

Update: As of 10:08am #5,#6,#8,#9,#12,#13 had scratched.

Race 10 – Loooch Racing dropped #5 MOONLIT METEOR to score twice at the Fairgrounds while avoiding the claim box. Today’s $10k tag is reasonable. His winning ways continue
