Race 1 – It is not unusual for Thistledown runners to return from Tampa Bay fit. #6 PYRITEDAN wintered there after finishing his Ohio season with back to back winners. He seems well spotted squeezing into this condition by a couple days – winner $10.20

Race 2 – That Mahoning Valley trip may have tightened #6 ZIPCO for his return to Cleveland. He is dropping considerably from the level he raced at in 2014 – second nipped by a City Zip half-brother; both horses last raced at MVR

Race 3 – #2 SPITTIN’ FEATHERS was a winner in her lone trip here last October – winner $5.40

Race 4 – Sandra Adkins does well with horses that have Maryland connections. #8 GOLDEN EMPIRE broke his maiden in Cleveland before wintering on the east coast – second

Race 5 – #6 GRANNY’S DRINK was probably facing better at Laurel – winner $2.80

Race 6 – The current “Queen of Ohio” #1A NEEDMORE FLATTERY faces open company here but could be up to the task – backed into a winner with entry mate DREAM BLING $2.80; NEEDMORE FLATTERY stumbled at the start then ran evenly in midpack

Race 7 – Both #1 PYRITE GREEN and #1A CRAFTY CHEIF tangled with classy company in Florida – second to OP shipper; duh??

Race 8 – Brent Angelle drops the price tag on #8 SOUTHERN ROGUE and switches to TD Houghton trying collect his colt’s second victory – second
