Race 1 – #3 DR. COOPER came back to the races last spring ready to run – last of six – $41.40 winner kicks off the day

Race 2 – Back class should allow #4 ZIVAGO navigate on dirt in an attempt to jump-start his career in the midwest – scratch

Race 3 – Robert Gorham attempts to continue the Midas touch that he held at Mahoning Valley by sending two sharp Austintown runners #1 SOMETHING NICE and #1A PIXIE CHICK in this rich state-bred allowance sprint – SOMETHING NICE was much the best $2.40

Race 4 – Mahoning Valley form transferred surprisingly well to Thistledown on opening day. If that trend holds #6 SWIFTY UNEAUX has a shot here – fourth to another MVR runner SIMPLE MAN SKYNYRD

Race 5 – Trainer Richard Rettele is the right guy to prep #5 JOY OF BAPTISTRY for abbreviated sprints like this 4f dash – at least fifth; never a factor

Race 6 – After striking out with newly acquired #7 CACTUS QUEEN in the Southern Park Stakes trainer Shane Meyers sends her out to face Ohio maidens today – scratch

Race 7 – #4 CITY ZIPPIN returns to the races in a tough spot but the pace seems to favor his running style – third; nice effort by first off the bench Ohio bred facing open allowance company – pretty crummy selection by me . . .

Race 8 –  #2 TALL HAMMER banged away competitively at this condition. Maybe he finishes the job today – sharp fouth; Oliva Iniro had a nice day (2/3) with his Turfway shippers $40 and $20
