Monday, May 4 at Thistledown

“ramblings” are not always plays when the windows open –

Race 1 – The gut tells me that Jason DaCosta’s stable is going to make some noise if they stick around Cleveland. #2 OVERSTAND should be fit after travelling seven furlongs in his last at Tampa Bay – second

Race 2 – Sandra Adkins returns #4 ARIEL AFLEET to Thistledown where she broke her maiden in September from Laurel. Other shippers from Oaklawn, Sam Houston, and Turfway add to the mystic – last of six

Race 3 – Although their are several solid trainers in here these lifetime losing animals are not the best from there stables. Maybe it’s a good sign that Jason Lumpkins is up on #5 ARAGON’S QUEST – second

Race 4 – This bunch might warrant accepting the two for one deal #1 MIGHTY AGGIE who showed some life at Mahoning Valley and #1A NONELMA. Half brother of the Kentucky Derby winner but unraced since 2013 # 6 GOLDEN PIONEER deserves a paddock inspection – winner $6.40

Race 5 – #1A COUNTRY FLAVOR (POE) competitive at The fairgrounds should be tough if he runs. #7 QUIET AND FOXY is about due for some rest but enjoys today’s distance – QUIET AND FOXY $10.40; 7/1 exacta  $26.20

Race 6 – #3 LARCENYINMYHEART tourched his Thistledown opponents last spring – fifth

Race 7 – #4 FLEET BEAT was sharp in his 2015 debut in Tampa but will have out run another bunch of good-looking shippers – sixth

Race 8 – Olivo Inirio drops #5 NIMBLE TIGER out of open claiming company off a win to face a solid field of n3y – fourth
