Wednesday at Saratoga

Blind stabs tossed out on my first ever day in Saratoga Springs. These ramblings won’t always be wagers.

Race 1 – #3 GIMME FIVE seemed to take well to the USA and this course earlier in the meet – fourth

Race 2 – Todd Pletcher may have shipped #2 CHASE LANE to town to bolster his chances to win the training crown. Dropping to his lowest claiming level he should get a speed duel to close into at the wire – second

Race 3 – #1 MONSTER BEA might be quick enough to control the pace – fifth of six

Race 4 – Running behind impressive Rachel’s Alexandra the last time was no disgrace. With a race under her belt well bred #2 NICKNAME might be ready to let her star shine – winner $3.90

Race 5 – #1 (pp7) SANFIERA faces several of the same suspects that she out sprinted 10Aug – fourth

Race 6 – It’s a long shot but #11 ULYSSES is the potential “speed of the speed” assigned this wide post position outside others that will contend early – last

Race 7 – Well bred #4 ACAPELLA debuts for Chad Brown – third

Race 8 – Interestingly Irad Ortiz sticks with Anthony Dutrow and #9 PEP THE CHAMP running against some heavy hitters sent in by Brown/Pletcher – seventh

Race 9 – Quick #3 COMDANTE returns to New York bred company – fifth

Race 10 – #9 VALUETIEMPO has shown some competitive juices recently against open claimers – ninth of ten
