MVR 1-23-16

Ramblings aren’t always wagers.

Race 1 – #6 BENNYFAX was forced to duel most of the way last time before being over hauled by a closer. #5 WHISKEY RUNNER returns from needed freshener; stalking style helps. Class dropper #7 BEAR’S TAURAS appears to run best around two turns – 6*-7*-4-3 ($11.40)

Race 2 – #8 SHEER TALENT has been out running his odds against good company; cutback/Bracho help. Consistent figs land #7 FIFTY SHADES as most likely. #3 SHIPPING MONEY fits returning to fast surface – 8*-5-4-7 ($5.80)

Race 3 – Either half of the Elliot Sullivan entry #1 (POE, PP4) DIXIE BREW or #1A (POE, PP6) can be trusted to loom large. #7 (PP8) CRAZY WILD BESS seems to have gotten back on the right track for Christain Pilares; trainer Nabu Morales is 13-7-2-1 here in 2016  – 1*-7*-4-5 ($3.40)

Race 4 – #6 DOMONATION and #2 BILL NACK could rewind their closing efforts last time; both enjoy today’s distance. #8 YOUNG FORESTER held on well versus top two last time; may have to duel early again today  – 7-5-1-6* ($24.20)

Race 5 – #9 (PP11) PREACINTOTHECHOIR battled stakes placed gelding into the stretch last time before tiring; outside leverage today. #4 (PP2) HARLEE HONEY (Harlan’s Holiday) gets first time lasix after starting career with two sharp seconds. Well bred #1 (PP4) ANSWER QUIETLY heads the Gorham entry – 4*-9*-2B-7 ($2.40)

Race 6 – #4 SUMMERS LAW has been keeping good company in Ohio. #8 ALPHA WOLF gets bounced from barn to barn but usually shows up on race day. #2 OCTIBBEHA WARRIOR is faster than 30/1 morning line; third off layoff? stranger things have happened  – 1-9-6-10 ($6.80)

Race 7 – #4 WHAT OUTA WHO romped over several of these 09Jan while running out of condition; returns at same level. New speed signed on #5 CASTLE’S GIRL and #10 CAROLYN M. face the potential of flaming each other out – 10*-5*-4*-3 ($6.40)

Race 8 – The finale at MVR is typically an adventure. Past performance logic isn’t always the solution to nailing the winner: #5 GANGSTER MASON took a big drop in his first trip south of the border only to chase the tail of a scooter along the rail after he put away the rest of the pack in the middle of the track; still a logical “best of the rest” play   7-12-5*-10 ($30.00)
