Ramblings aren’t always wagers.
Race 1 – #2 NEW YORK GEM is the fastest horse in the race. (second)
Race 2 – #4 CONFRONTATIONAL may be the best in here but that late running style is a concern. Megan Fadlovich connected with her in November. (last)
Race 3 – If you are willing to draw a line through that last effort AND ignore her move to a low percentage barn #2 (POE, PP5) FLASH A SMILE towers over this field on paper. Her last was a peculiar race that returned a $1,000 exacta so I’ll give her a pass and wish the new connections well. (scratched)
Race 4 – Push the “all” button; the “none of the above” button for me. ($94.00 winner)
Race 5 – Everything seems to be back in place for #7 CHARIOT CHAR; returning to MVR and Sammy Bermudez. If SMOOTH ARRIVAL has a nice trip in today’s third race I’ll switch allegiance to career runner-up #6 DYNAFOX who might find the right pace here. (second)
Race 6 – #10 (PP11) WEST OF DENALI got the worst of what appears to be the re-draw of a cancelled race but remains the most consistent of this inconsistent set. The return to sprinting should put a notch in the belt of his struggling connections. (fourth)
Race 7 – #6 WHITE KNUCKLE RIDE faces elders for the first time at her very tender age. If she beats these girls shame on them. #2 (PP1) KK’S FRONTIER closed well against a speed favoring bias 02Feb. (scratched; favored WHITE KNUCKLE RIDE was fourth)
Race 8 – #9 SEVENTYSEVEN returns to a comfortable spot after a trip around two turns; may have pace advantage; very competitive bunch could be an OK return. (second)
Race 9 – #9 EGBERT’S BEST circled from the pack of the back to pass or catch several of these on 06Feb when few winners were closing. (winner $6.00)
Not a very positive review. Dance with caution . . .
