MVR 3-2-16

  Ramblings aren’t always wagers.

Race 1 – The abundance of early runners in this short but tasty field earns Kentucky invader #4 DELIVERANCE DAY a slight lean over locally proven #2 KEEPYOURCHINUP. (fourth, second)

Race 2 – #1 SHANE ROARS has been sharp at this level lately; rail post is a concern. (sixth)

Race 3 – #4 MATTER OF FACT was “much the best” of most of these 03Feb. (fourth)

Race 4 – Glenroy Brown’s call to Dean Sarvis may signal that #3 KENTUCKY LADY is “live.” (fourth)

Race 5 – #6 BLUES STORY could capitalize on potential speed duel between the inside two that must go early. (fourth)

Race 6 – #10 GOLDEN ATHENA has become competitive since dropping to her lowest tag; was flattered by EILDON HALL’s win yesterday – get a price – she’s 2 for 32. (second)

Race 7 – #5 CAROLYN M. was run down 20Feb over a surface that didn’t appeal to front runners; gets off the rail today; TD Houghton stays in the saddle. #11 HELLO MISS fits with these; Dean Sarvis inherits the ride. (second, sixth)

Race 8 – #4 CO SISTER goes for Charles Lawson’s freshened barn that has been coming back to the races ready to run. #9 HONORS BEST burst on the scene when fresh last spring. #1A (PP8) PERFECT QUESTION takes a suspiciously steep drop but alternatives come with lots of baggage also. (fourth, seventh, scratch)
