MVR 3-12-16

Ramblings aren’t always wagers.

Race 1 – #6 CINCINCINNATI RIB is a longshot hunch bet here. He had to tumble to a lifetime low level to grab is second win but may be properly placed;  has been productive at MVR; trainer Louis Bates has notched both of his wins here this season in state-bred affairs. (sixth)

Race 2 – #6 MOZZAFIATO ran hard at #1 WITH GRATITUDE on 24Feb after having to angle around that one late. #4 MISS VENEZUELA was turned back by the front-running WITH GRATITUDE in that same affair but will probably get her preferred surface today – slightest of leans to MOZZAFIATO in this intriguing rematch. (third, fifth, first)

Race 3 – Money burner #8 (PP9) SKIP ROYALE would not surprise as the Gorham barn begins to dig out of its slump. #5 (PP4) HOSTILE CRUZ is the obvious one to catch unless a superstar is lurking among the first time starters. (third, fifth)

Race 4 – #2 REPENT YE could get loose at her winning distance. #1 DREAMING KITTEN may be a problem late. (second, first)

Race 5 – First time Lasix will draw a lot of deserved attention for #3 BUCKEYE BROWN. First time starter #2 (PP1) HONOR ROLL was bred by owner Elisabeth Alexander a name that I notice connected to lots of solid Ohio-breds; Dean Sarvis is up. (seventh, second)

Race 6 – If #1 (POE/PP2) TILT THE BALANCE runs he is an interesting prospect very well spotted. #6 (PP5) LADY PANTHER and #7 (PP8) A UNIQUE LADY matched strides at this level last time for reliable connections; this distance might favor LADY PANTHER. (sixth, third, second)

Race 7 – Expect #3 FORCE MULTIPLIER to be very tough despite return to open company. #2 REAL LUCK looks to get back on track at his best distance. (sixth, third)

Race 8 – Leaning toward young and inexperienced #1 FLASHY STORM over vets struggling to earn their second wins. (fifth)
