Thistledown 10/3

Ramblings rather than selections . . .

Race 1 – #3 SKY CREW is the lone two turn early speed. 6-1-5-3* ($7.20)

Race 2 – Personal favorite #6 IM MR RIGHT has been quick in his last two against strong fields. #1 TAKIDDIM  proved the he wasn’t allergic to dirt when he traveled here in July; his team is targeting this distance/condition. 1*-4-6*-2 ($8.20)

Race 3 – Slight lean to developing 3yo #5 SLINGIN SAMMY in throw down with just as fast #4 HIJO DE SHELTOWEE. 4*-8-6*-1 ($3.40)

Race 4 – #1 ARSENIC AND LACE should get her desired race shape for a barn that ships carefully from Mountaineer. Ohio bred #6 FLASHY G is the most likely front runner to out last this bunch but it’s a coin flip full of solid speed. 6*-4-2-5 ($3.40)

Race 5 – Her early running style gives #6 FROM RIA TO RICHES the lean over JILLY FROM JERSEY in their rematch. #3 SHEZAFLASHYLASSIE is an interesting import for Richard Zielinski. (Gate scratch JILLY FROM JERSEY) 8-1-7-6* ($28.60)

Race 6 – Despite joining the party late and very wide #2 WHERE’S WOODY posted a snappy time in his Thistledown debut; possibly “much the best” today. #6 TOTAL POSSE could surprise if the Philly import falters. 8-2*-6*-10 ($49.00)

Race 7 – This spring’s efforts by #7 DUVAL ST. at Keeneland must be noted; Larry Smith usually ships north with intent; the return to a dry track will be welcomed. A potential duel for the lead puts #1 COTTONWOOD CANYON and #3 R FAST CAT in the mix late. 6-8-5-4 ($30.00)

Race 8 – The lack of other early pace may help claim back #1 FORESTER’S DIVA who has the top times at this distance; runs best for this barn; jock Walter De La Cruz knows him. #11 PROTHROE is capable returning to a sprint; outside posts have scored at a lowly 6% in six furlong races. (Scratch #1 FORESTER’S DIVA) $4.40 winner 11*-10-8-4
