Thistledown 8/14

Chatter, not to be confused with astute selections:

Race 1: #6, pp8 OBVIOUS TWO turned in a sharp 5.5f effort behind heavily favored HER KITTY last time; outside post is a positive. Trainer John Dyer (#4, pp1 TIZ B B N) usually ships competitive stock to Ohio. #3c COUNT THE LOOT will scratch; ran yesterday. 6*-1a-4*-2b ($4.60)

Race 2: #1, pp2 I’M IN A HURRY sizzled last time and has always been competitive in Ohio. Outside threat, #6, pp8 HAPPY TO BE HERE is interesting; returning to sprint distance; has been facing solid fields; Luis Colon sticks with team Loooch but Walter De La Cruz knows his way around this oval. Should the top two fry one another, #2, pp5 BOSPHORUS STORM could be set to pounce. #1 I’M IN A HURRY and #2 BOSPHORUS STORM scratched. 5-6*-2b-1a ($8.00)

Race 3: #8 R R RED, the fastest of these at 6F, may be looming on the shoulder of #1 HOOROO as he tries to steal this from the rail. 7-1*-8*-10 ($10.00)

Race 4 (Well matched six pack): #2 MARRIEDTOAMINISTER made a big impression in her debut race out of California; additional distance shouldn’t be a problem. #3, pp4 FORTUNATE GINA should be plenty fit off two mile trips in the goo; proved herself against open company last time. 1-5-3*-2* ($5.20)

Race 5: The last time that #7 SPRING CITY GAL hit the board was also her last trip around two turns on dirt; ship-in upset candidate facing mostly sprinters. 7*-1-3-5 ($14.20)

Race 6: #6 SORCERER’S PRINCE might press #1 FAT DADDY into submission on the final turn. #5 TALK LESS is going to wake up someday and start earning back her auction price; this is his winning distance. 1*-6*-5*-4 ($5.00)

Race 7: Ship-in router from the east, #1 GHETTO FABULOUS would seem to have a shot; her barn does well with new stock but hasn’t shipped to Thistledown successfully in seven tries. #6 DROP THE GAMBLER just lasted at this distance in her Thistledown debut; her destiny lies in the hands of others; expect  #7 MOSTLY GHOSTLY to apply pressure. 4–6*-8-7* ($18.00)

Race 8: #4 RED ALE has been knocking at the door. Now he returns to his winning distance while adding TD Houghton. TD’s win percentage doubles when he hangs around for race 8 . . . The odds may indicate if Shane Meyer’s #9 EASY TEN has recovered from his 14 months away. That barn has won with it’s last two including Saturday’s $40 surprise. 4*-3-1-7 ($5.20)
