Thistledown 8/30

Race 1: In a field full of “need the lead” types her ability to score from off the pace gives #1, pp3 WARREN’S TRICIA R. a chance to keep the good times rolling in the Loooch barn. (BTW: ISTRUE scratched out of tougher test Monday.) 6/2/8/1a ($46.60)

Race 2: The last half mile trip clocking turned in by #5, pp4 ZIPPIT YANKEE was the best any of these has recorded. #3,pp2 SUN MAGIC won’t go away easily. Scratch #5; 3*/4/7/1 ($3.60)

Race 3: Team Loooch has introduced three Ohio-breds to Thistledown from California. They all seem special. #6 SOUTHERN MISCHIEF toyed with her Ohio company last month. 6*/5/4/2 ($2.80)

Race 4: The fastest of the locals #1a, pp7 DANCEWITHMEDARLIN should be a big long shot facing well bred shippers from strong barns. However, neither of the new faces has been proven on dirt. (BTW: Those loping works by DREAMINGOFROSEALLA were a signal or a diguise.) 9/7/4/6 ($20.00)

Race 5: If ridden out in her maiden breaking debut in Cleveland #9, pp10 SUPERIOR EYE Q is probably the fastest of these; returning for the same tag is a mystery off convincing win. #6, pp7 DEPUTY WANDA has been knocking at the door against better all summer; transferred from solid barn to solid barn.  (BTW: Recently on the scene William Martin shipped a winner in from Prairie Meadows on Monday.) 5/6/8/2 ($52.00)

Race 6: Another balanced field with plenty of pace; they have taken turns heading each other. #4 EKATI’S ICE should get set up again today; has cashed the biggest local purse in this group. Miguel Feliciano sends a very formidable pair. 3/5/5*/1 ($7.60)

Race 7: It looks like Michael Foster ponied up $50k to put #5 AWESOME GENT back into Williams Cowans’ hands; a story worth watching.  #1 JAGUAR POZ has trucked down interstate 90 to grab a couple nice purses in sharp times. (BTW: BREAKIN THE FEVER brings his jock along from Finger Lakes; FL shippers are 12-3-1-4 this meet. AWESOME GENT is an interesting and well-traveled claim back.) 5*/8/1*/6 ($10.20)

Race 8: #1 CHARITABLE returns to his winning distance; sharp clocking 31July; unimpressive record was earned mostly on the rough NYRA circuit. #7 WALK AWAY SLOW was flattered when BELLAMY JONES became a repeat winner on Monday. 1*/7*/4/10 ($17.40)
