Thistledown 9/4

Keep your eyes wide open today. Saturday no sprint winner was more than half a length off the lead at the first call.

Race 1: #3, pp2 QUEEN CONCERTO went easily in a solid field last time; class advantage today. Scratch #3. 1/6/2/4 ($10.00)

Race 2: #4 SOLITAIRE’S VISION might be worth look; only trip on dirt was a winner; has been working over Woodbine training tack which might be dirt. Notes: Laurel shippers (#2) are 1/10; Fort Erie (#4) 0/2; Belterra (#5) 28/127 – 22%. 2/6/3/5 ($40.80)

Race 3: #2 MAGNUM MILLS is a gate to wire threat. 2*/5/3/1 ($4.80)

Race 4: 2yo maidens; first time starters make up half of the field . . . ? 5/6/1/3 ($3.40)

Race 5 Scarlet and Gray Stakes $75,000 Ohio-breds six furlongs:
#5, pp7 LA NINA BRONCA has been chasing some of Ohio’s best stakes horses this summer; her running style may fit here depending on how the entry is handled. Team Loooch’s three-horse entry can control the pace if they choose. Scratch #1x. 1/4/5*/2 ($2.40)

Race 6: #3 CASCABRIA has run behind next time winners in both of her local routes. Sorta dull until finding her stride late sprinting as the odds on favorite last time #5 HONOR RIDE is the obvious one to watch stretching out. 5*/3*/2/7 ($2.20)

Race 7: #5, pp4 SOUTH TO THE SEA should be in position to control the pace against a strong field. 5*/6/1a/4 ($3.40)

Race 8: #5 WHISKEY CURES UGLY returns to his proper condition seeking company that he can outrun; controls pace today; Gerardo Corrales has been taking “live” rides. #1 LITTLE AWESOME is interesting off that last trip; must hold form while others in this field may have fallen off.  #2 INCA SAINT takes a steep drop following his dismal local debut. Scratch #2. 8/1/7/9 ($10.20)
